International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women- 25th November

International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women was declared by the UN General Assembly in December 1999 as the day on which activities are designed to raise awareness of the problem and fight it through the enactment of laws and their enforcement, encouraging women to complain, handling families where there is violence and more. 
The date of this day was selected following the brutal assassination of the lives of the three Mirabal sisters, political activity in the Dominican Republic on November 25, 1960. The three women were brutally murdered by agents of the dictator who ruled the republic at the time, Rafael Trujillo, because of their political activities. 
Violence against women is a social phenomenon that includes physical violence, verbal abuse, psychological abuse, sexual assault or economic violence against women. This phenomenon is common throughout the whole world. 
Every day many women fall victim to rape and sexual assault. 
According to studies, 80% of beating men  were witnessed violence in their homes or have experienced violence. 
About 60% of women are beaten grew up in homes in them was violence.
