The Power Puff Girls were created as a result of a failed trial by Professor Utonium who tried to produce the "perfect girls" from sugar, pepper and "everything nice" (paraphrasing the old English children's song). During the experiment, he accidentally added to the compound "Chemical X" that caused the explosion to build supernatural powers. From that explosion, Prof. Utonium's pet monkey, Mojo Juju, received the human intelligence and other human characteristics. Because the professor turned all his attention to the girls, the monkey vowed to take revenge on them.
The heart of the series is about the girls' war in the crime world and the monsters that invade the town of Townsville. The girls receive a report in the hotline at the booth directly from the mayor.
The Power Puff Girls are Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup.
