Handbag Day - October 10th

Purses, bags, satchels, handbags, or whatever you call them - have existed since ancient times or perhaps even in prehistoric times. As long as there were things to carry, there were bags that could be carried.
As you can imagine, men, women and children all have things to carry, so use bags throughout the ages, of all ages and genders.
Today, bags and purses have two main styles: "for men" and "for women". Women have a whole department of evening bags and party bags and men have more backpacks, technical bags and work bags.

For some reason, most women carry some bag whenever they are out and men will minimize what they need only for a few things they keep in their pockets.
Bags have all kinds of names: A school bag is called a satchel. A hiking bag is called a backpack, or "mochila" for travelers abroad. A small bag for carrying money is called a wallet and an evening bag used mainly by women is called a clutch bag.

Here are two benefits to bags:
1) They can be a bit like home when away from home. You can hold so many things that you may need while spending time like keys, phone, makeup, painkillers, handkerchiefs, pen and wallet.
2) They can be cool looking fashion accessories.
And two disadvantages of portfolios:
1) They can cause back pain or cause the body to be in an unbalanced position.
2) They can be very expensive.

Here are some more interesting facts about portfolios:
The most expensive bag in the world, which holds the Guinness record since 2011 that has not yet been broken, is the bag of Mouawad, a $ 1008 diamond night wallet, worth $ 3.8 million. The luxury products company Mouawad, which belongs to the Mouawad family from Dubai, holds five Guinness World Records for some of the most expensive items in the world. This includes the Mouawad 1001 Nights Diamond, an 18-karat heart-shaped handbag created by craftsmen who devoted 8,800 hours to it. It is adorned with 4,517 diamonds, which include 105 yellow diamonds, 56 pink diamonds and 4,356 colorless diamonds. This one-time luxury item was offered for sale at Christie's Auction House in Hong Kong.

What is fun about bags is that even if you have a dull and monochromatic bag, you can always add accessories to it that will express your taste and tell the world about your personal love like animals, hearts, beloved characters, symbols and even food:

The most common things that can be found in women's bags (apart from a wallet and cell phone): tampons, plasters, lipstick, pen, small mirror, deodorant, sunglasses, sunscreen, tweezers, keys.
