Superheroes Day - April 28

When we think of superheroes, we usually think of a man or woman in a tight suit, with a symbol on his chest, who in everyday life is an ordinary person, but in a moment of trouble he changes form, gets his superpowers and goes out to save the world.

Batman, Superman, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, The Green Giant and Spider-Man are just a few of the superheroes we know, and although they are fictional, these superheroes are role models for our children.

But the superheroes are not just the ones in the movies. Even in reality there are superheroes wearing uniforms, of police, firefighters, doctors or the army. They, too, are life-saving heroes.

Superhero Day is meant to remind us that there are all kinds of superheroes in the world. They can come in any shape, size or gender. They can be not only life-saving professionals, but also people who work in a completely different job, but in their free time volunteer to help weak people, distressed animals and anyone in need.

Superhero Day was invented in 1995 by employees of the Marvel Comics Company.

Every day people wear uniforms and go to life-saving jobs like paramedics or ambulance drivers, firefighters, cops, etc., but apart from them there are plenty of others who are considered real heroes. People who help the homeless with food or clothes, people who help lost children, people who rescue distressed dogs and cats, who help people who get stuck with the car on the road and the list of superheroes does not end ...

This day is also set in the United States as a day of remembrance for workers, which commemorates those who died at work and aims to try to make workplaces safer and promote safer working conditions.

Every year, thousands of workers around the world die in work accidents. National Tell a Story Day is a day celebrated in the United States every year on April 27th. This day is created for people who want to meet to tell stories of all kinds. The stories can be stories from a book, from the memory or from the imagination of the narrator.

World Graphics Day, also known as World Graphic Design Day, is held every year on April 27, the founding day of the International Graphic Design Associations Council (Icograda) on this date in 1963. The purpose of World Graphics Day is to introduce people to the world of graphic design and its role in the world.

What would have happened if there was no graphic design? Imagine the world for a moment without this media - there will be serious chaos, right? It will be impossible to identify products wrapped in supermarkets, there will be confusion at train stations and airports, it will be impossible to get around on the roads, the internet will only be a pile of black letters on a white screen and there will be no games and Instagram and Facebook ...

Graphic design is a branch of visual communication. Design is a creative process that usually involves the client and the designer, and is ultimately executed by the performer. The goal of graphic design is to convey a specific message to a target audience with the help of a combination of texts and images.

There are different methods of creating a combination of words, symbols and images to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. The graphic designer can use a combination of typography, visual art and page layout techniques to produce a balanced, focused and symmetrical end result.

On World Graphics Day, graphic designers around the world gather to celebrate in a variety of ways and hold a global dialogue and collaboration aimed at advancing the mission and vision of the Icograda organization. Today, the Icograda network spans 67 countries and regions, connecting media designers around the world who work collectively to advance the profession.

How to celebrate World Graphic Design Day?

Look around you and see how everything in the world, created by humans, is shaped in some graphic way. When you surf the Internet, pay attention to the small and big details: What is the font that the site uses? What are the colors, buttons, structure of the site? Look at the logos of brands you buy, behind every such thing stands someone, one or more, who has devoted deep thought to bringing it to its appearance. Everywhere you look you will see something that behind it is brainstorming, that someone has designed and devoted a lot of thought to and we usually take for granted. Today is the day to pay attention to the process of thought, imagination and execution behind things.

Try designing a logo or business card yourself. Maybe you want to study graphic design? It is without a doubt one of the most creative and required professions in the world and without it the world would be dull, monotonous and impossible to navigate. International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day- April 26

On April 26, 1986, at 1:24 a.m., a terrible accident occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in northwestern Ukraine. The Chernobyl disaster was the worst nuclear accident since the world began using nuclear energy. Some argue that this is the most severe ecological disaster of the 20th century. The disaster was rated 7th, the most severe on the International Atomic and Radiological Event of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The nuclear reactor was built near the city of Pripyat, about 18 km from the city of Chernobyl and about 110 km from Kiev. Residents within a 30-kilometer radius of the reactor were evacuated, while some 600,000 people (called liquidators) were employed, mostly under duress or military service, in cleaning and evacuating radiation-infected areas, many without adequate protection. 54 people were killed as a direct result of the disaster. In the years after the disaster, an increase in cancer (mainly thyroid cancer) and other diseases caused by radiation damage was observed among residents of the disaster area. However, regarding the mortality rate that can be directly linked to radiation damage, opinions Divisions, and estimates range from about 4,000 to 93,000 people.To this day, many areas remain infected with radioactive radiation and the city of Pripyat is banned from entry.

The disaster came as a result of a combination of a well-known design failure of the 'AZ-5' reactor shutdown mechanism that was reportedly shelved and negligence during a failed experiment that created an abnormal rise in the reactor core temperature that caused melting and rupture of its protective shell. The radioactive cloud created by the massive explosion was composed mainly of stimulating nuclei of iodine and cesium atoms and spread throughout almost all of Europe.

The disaster raised the environmental cost of using nuclear energy and the control of such reactors. In accordance with the United Nations resolution, April 26 has now been declared to mark the Chernobyl disaster.

Richter Scale Day - April 26th

Every year, on April 26, Richter Scale Day is celebrated. This day honors the birth of the inventor of the Richter scale, Charles P. Richter (April 26, 1900 - September 30, 1985).

Richter was an American seismologist and physicist famous for inventing the Richter scale, the scale that quantifies the magnitude of earthquakes. While working at the California Institute of Technology, along with Beno Gutenberg, Richter first used his scale in 1935.

After the Richter scale was published in 1935, it immediately became the standard measure of earthquake strength. There are now more modern methods of measuring the magnitude of earthquakes, but the intensity index is still referred to by the public as the Richter scale.
