The most popular flavor of ice cream is vanilla, but since the Italians made frozen hot chocolate in 1692, Chocolate ice cream is competing very closely. The festive day in honor of chocolate ice cream probably were a manufacturer entrepreneur who wanted to encourage higher sales of the delicious dessert, but the question is whether it was really necessary to encourage people to eat more chocolate ice cream.

Yo-Yo Day - June 6

Yo-Yo Day is celebrated every year on June 6th.

The yo-yo is a toy made up of two discs of equal size, made of plastic, metal or wood, and connected to each other in the middle of a hinge around which a wire is wound. To play yo-yo grab the wire at the end, throw it away from the body and yo-yo jumps down and returns up to the hand.

What makes Yo-Yo go back up is the gyroscopic inertia, the force in motion that causes the object to return to the state it was in.

The reason for choosing June 6 as the yo-yo day is unknown, but it may be because it is the birthday of Donald F. Duncan Sr., the American businessman who introduced the yo-yo into business and successfully marketed it as a modern toy in the 1930s. Duncan is sometimes mistaken for the invention of the yo-yo.

Yo-yo has a very long history. As early as 500 BC there is evidence that it was played in ancient Greece.

After the dolls, the yo-yo is the second oldest toy in the world.

Yo-yo became a popular toy in the ancient world through trade. He came to Scotland, England, India and Egypt and became a favorite game there as well.

To the modern world yo-yo came from the Philippines. In Filipino the origin of the name is "Tagalog" which means "to walk around".

In 1866 James L. Haven and Charles Hettrich patented  Yo-Yo's in U.S. But yo-yo became a success story in 1928, when Pedro Flores, an American of Filipino descent, opened a yo-yo factory in Santa Barbara, California.

National Veggie Burger day- June 5

Burger is one of the most delicious and popular dishes for people around the world. But there is also a hamburger that is not made of meat, but of vegetables, and June 5 is the day of this hamburger - the veggie burger day.

The veggie burgers are very tasty, and sometimes those who eat them do not feel the difference between them and meat burgers.

There are many versions of vegetarian burgers, but what is common to all is that their ingredients are all based on plants. They are based on pulses, lentils, black beans, soybeans, nuts, seeds, quinoa, rice, vegetables such as sweet potatoes, cauliflower, corn, carrots and mushrooms.

With all due respect, the vegetable burgers are healthier than meat burgers.

They contain less saturated fat and therefore are not dangerous to the heart and blood vessels and have a high quality protein and fiber needed for the body.

Another reason to prefer a hamburger-

Perhaps you have heard of the "small" problem of the world called climate change.

One of the things we can do to help stop this process is to eat less meat, because the cows emit methane gas that is causing global warming.

If you like animals and don't want to hurt them, this is another great reason to prefer a vegetable hamburger, which does not include ingredients produced from the bodies of animals.

How to celebrate the National Veggie Burger day?

Today is the day to try the vegie burger if you have not tried yet. It's no problem finding it in restaurants. Look for a restaurant whose menu features a vegie burger.

You can also make homemade hamburger patties and eat in a bun with fries on the side (yummy!).

Today supermarkets also have plenty of plant hamburgers that contain nothing from animals.

The hot air balloon in the casing creates a low density of cold air from outside, which is what makes the balloon rise. Ketchup Day - June 5th

Some like it very much and some less. There are those who add it to everything, including noodles, rice, omelet and more ... some are criticized for overuse. Some people eat it only with chips.
No matter how much you like it, ketchup is the most popular sauce in the Western world. In 200 countries around the world, about 650 million bottles of Heinz ketchup alone are sold each year.
June 5 is Ketchup Day. We have not yet discovered why this date is set for Ketchup day but we are searching.

The history of ketchup
The first documented recipe for ketchup comes from China from 544 AD. The sailors called the sauce based on the fish ke-tchup and it was made from the "gut, stomach and bladder of the yellow fish, shark and mullet" that incubated for 20 days under sunlight in summer until they were ready to eat, 50 days in spring or autumn and 100 days in winter.
In the early 1700s the Chinese sauce came to Malaysia, where it was discovered by English explorers who were there. By 1740 it had already become a major ingredient in English cuisine.
At first there were no tomatoes in this sauce at all. The British who tried to replicate the sauce at home encountered an obstacle: in the Asian version soybeans had major ingredients and they were not grown in Europe. So instead of soy, European chefs tried to add oysters, nuts and mushrooms.
It was not until 1801 that Sandy Edison added the tomatoes to the sauce ingredients and wrote the recipe in the American cookbook "Sugar house book".

More people then published recipes for ketchup, and as the years went by, ketchup gained great popularity in American cuisine which was an avid tomato lover.
At first it was the farmers who grew tomatoes that sold the ketchup.
In 1837 American Jonas Yerkes began to produce and sell at a national level ketchup sauce in a bottle and followed, in 1876 the Heinz company began to produce and sell its own ketchup whose sales slogan was: "Blessed relief for Mother and the other women in the household!"
In the early days of America, there was very little concern for food safety. Unfortunately it was not uncommon for dishonest shop owners to sell meat and other foods that were neither fresh nor safe to eat to their customers. To cover up the bad taste and smell, most store owners added ketchup. This thick sauce sourced from Chinese pickled fish sauce was used to eliminate the bad taste more than anything else. There was no standard for this spice, it could be made of anything, with a variety of ingredients.
In 1876, the F. & J. Heinz Company began selling "tomato ketchup," which became a big hit. Then more companies started selling ketchup, only instead of using fresh tomatoes like Heinz, they used inferior products to lower costs.
Mr. Heinz sent his son to Washington, D.C.: His mission was to persuade the lobby in Congress to adopt strict standards to ensure the American people received healthy and safe food at the family dinner table.
Heinz's efforts led to the development of what is now known as the FDA (Federal Food and Drug Administration).
